Synopsis
Evelyn Anderson has always known she’s not entirely “normal”. If you ask the nosy old ladies from the little village in Philadelphia where she has been raised, they will tell you that Evelyn has always been a peculiar child, weird and with her head in the clouds, but not a single one of them is aware of how far their musings actually spread.
No, Evelyn Anderson is not normal, nor is no one of her family.
After all, her maternal grandmother was the heir to the throne of a fantasy world that nurtures itself from magic until she ran away with the man she loved without looking back.
Why? Evelyn has never known.
Their grandparents have never talked about it.
And, somehow, they have convinced her that it’s better off that way. Because of that, during the first sixteen years of her life, it has not occurred to Evelyn that so many secrets hide a story…and a destiny for her.
The awakening of her powers, a lost twin sister, an ancient prophecy that marks her as the Chosen One and a war between Light and Darkness in Eridan, the homeworld of her grandparents, are going to oblige Evelyn to assume her role as legitimate heir to the throne and apparent saviour of a world of which she knows little. Much to her regret, Evelyn will have to learn to control her recently awaken magical abilities, and she will be forced to face different demons: on one hand, the disapproval and distrust of the almighty Council of the Five towards any step she takes forward in an increasingly swampy terrain; on the other, her own fears, the truth about herself and a painful past that she hasn’t really gotten over. And all that, of course, not forgetting the sinister Lord of Darkness, leader of the Dark forces and who intends to kill her before she can interfere with his plans to domain Eridan.
The situation doesn’t look easy. And, surely, it’s not.
However, Evelyn won’t be on her own. She will have the help of her lifelong friends and her “protectors”, a magical elite squad trained to protect her and teach her everything she needs to know about the war and Eridan: Addison Wright, Catherine Bronson, Derek O’Donnell and Andy Carlton.
Andy Carlton…a name, and a young man, that will give our protagonist some headaches. Theirs will be, at first, a tense relationship based in his prejudices and her anger, that slowly will transform itself in something way more beautiful, in something infinitely more powerful. Enough to help saving a whole world.
This is the story of the salvation of Eridan. This is the story of Evelyn Anderson.
